Update on US Shipping Rates & Postal Policy Context

To our valued customers, we have recently been receiving more inquiries regarding US shipping rates, and we want to provide complete transparency regarding international shipping costs to the United States and explain why US-bound rates differ from other global destinations.

Context on US Tariff Policy Changes

The shift in shipping rates stems from ongoing international trade policy updates and tariff adjustments on goods entering the US. Following tariff changes and adjustments to import rules for goods from Hong Kong, standard postal service (Hongkong Post) suspended parcel services for items containing goods to US destinations. Postal networks do not feature integrated DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) duty-collection systems, making them unable to process goods under current customs rules.

Because traditional postal options remain unavailable for US-bound goods, our shop must rely entirely on commercial express couriers.

How Commercial Courier Shipping Works

To protect buyers from unexpected customs clearance fees or tax bills upon delivery, we send US orders via SF Express—a reliable, economical option with DDP service—which uses UPS to handle final-mile delivery. While this option remains far lower than standard retail commercial freight rates (like direct FedEx, direct DHL, or direct UPS, which can run $90–$120+ for freight alone), commercial couriers carry mandatory structural costs (all these fee structures can be verified directly on SF Express's public rate guides and news announcements):

  • Base Courier Freight: High fixed base rates for initial volumetric weight.
  • Residential Surcharges: Carrier fees applied to residential and extended-delivery zip codes.
  • Global Fuel Surcharges: Variable fees tied to international aviation fuel prices. Unlike postal services, express couriers adjust fuel surcharges weekly based on market fluctuations.
  • Prepaid DDP Tariffs & Customs Fees: Upfront duty clearance and customs processing.

Alternative Option

eBay Shop: We have launched an official eBay store (recommended for US buyers). eBay offers its integrated SpeedPAK shipping service, which provides significantly lower shipping rates to the US with USPS handling final-mile delivery. We are steadily adding our current in-stock items there now. For pre-order items, inventory will be listed as soon as it arrives in stock.

We are actively keeping an eye on all logistics and policy updates. Should postal options reopen or shipping rates become more favorable, we will promptly adjust our shipping fees at checkout.
